October!
A beauty of a month! We've been so lucky to have a loooonnng fall this year, which may be more of a thing* 👀.
I'm part of a Morning Harmony circle, run by the incredible Sarina Partridge. She's written a beautiful piece, that we sing together, about not only being brave in the dark, but also "carrying a spark"... It's about walking into winter, and given what our winter was last year, so much more. We're tense, we're iron, and we're soft, we're tender; it's a revelation to sing with others, and I'm so grateful.
Bring Your Kids! Twice a month! Thanks everyone who's turned out! This weekend, we did a house party, full of amazing folks and funny children, and it truly was the most fun.
A truly spooky Nudge! So many thanks to Open Eye Theatre!
There was a fire in an adjacent building at Resource. Everyone is thankfully safe, but the building is gutted. Give here to support.
Adorable So many thanks to Mandi and Stage Your Change for hosting our Workshop, and to the Bryant Lake Bowl for another delightful show! More to come! Schemes are scheming.
Advice Column with Sam and Lahiru This was ridiculous. Sam and Lahiru have created a show of stand up delight, and I'm so grateful to have been asked. I wasn't sure what to do, and they were so damned supportive.
Wendy MacNaughton is a dream, and a hero of mine. I love her work, her humor, her work, and she's generous enough to share it all! She recently shared about Saul Steinberg's hand 'puppet' and paper bags; I (vaguely) dressed myself as Sister Corita Kent, brought supplies, talked a bit, offered Wendy's activity, and THE AUDIENCE DID IT.
The goal of making things really weird for Jeff Pfoser** is complete! Many many thanks to Sam and Lahiru for inviting me. Go see this delightful show!
November!
Penny and the Bandits will be the interstitial band at the Full Moon Puppet Show, November 12th-14th!
Bring Your Kids! First Saturday at Cadenza, second Saturday at the Bryant Lake Bowl.
Children's Theatre Company is sending me to another Hennepin County Library for some Improv for Teens workshops. These have been a delight.
A little bit of COMPAS at the JFCC.
And then suddenly, it's Thanksgiving and then December which swirls into holidays and then suddenly, it's January and hard to drive to things?
TUESDAY. And that's all I say. 💙
*sighhhh... the climate is changing and horrible things are happening and in Minnesota, the leaves are really pretty.
**This was NOT the goal, and Jeff was truly the absolute the best about it. THANK YOU, JEFF!!!
