Guys! It's happening!

Hi friends... A new show! Exciting! Look, a rubber chicken! Come see!

The theme for January show is FUNNY PEOPLE - - and we've got local comedian/playwright/monekywrangler Joseph Scrimshaw, local comedian/playwright/stand up bear Brian Beatty and the founders of HUGE Theater Jill Bernard, Butch Roy and Nels Lennes.

All of that, and improv by BOY TRON! HOLY CRAP!

****************************************

This coming January 2011 - - local improviser and sometimes funny person Jen Scott presents:

CAMILLA PARKER BOWLS (AT THE BLB)
A brand new improv and interview show at the Bryant Lake Bowl.

Camilla Parker Bowls (at the BLB) invites local celebrities, storytellers, rock stars, funny people, writers, troublemakers and all sorts of interesting folk to the Bryant Lake Bowl stage. We chat, we interview, we discuss - - and then the reins are handed over to some of the best improv talent in the Twin Cities. They'll take the themes and ideas presented, and create, on the spot, an all original improv performance. Every night is different, every night is funny.

Like Phil Donahue followed by Johnathan Winters. Like Dr. Phil followed by Jerry Springer. Like Ellen followed by.. Ellen.

CHICAGO AVENUE PROJECT!!

This Monday and Tuesday! Pillsbury House Theater! CHICAGO AVENUE PROJECT!!!

a) What is the Chicago Avenue Project?
A fabulous program that takes at-risk kids and pairs them with professional dramaturgs, directors and actors to produce original works - as written by the kids.

b) Why is it more fun than fun?
Not only are you watching plays about talking waterfalls and steak-loving guinea pigs, you're watching some amazing talent perform plays about waterfalls and steak-loving guinea pigs. (Gratuitous name drop: this year's performance features Taj Ruler, Christina Baldwin, Zoe Pappas, Simone Perin, George Keller, Patrick Boyle and more... The talent!)

The feel of each performance is one of a pep rally - - encouraging, supporting, thrilled, silly. It's great. And honestly, some of the most surprising and heartfelt stuff around.

I'm doing the music for Chicago Avenue Project again - - Come listen to some amazing singers do incredible stuff with my very very simple songs. (I never met a downbeat I didn't like.)

Monday, 7 p.m. performance, FREE
Tuesday, 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. performance, FREE

Pillsbury House Theater, 3501 Chicago Ave S, Minneapolis.
